From Co. Antrim and a BA (Hons) in Fine & Applied Arts (Ceramics) at the University of Ulster, Joanne has built a career on wheel‑thrown stoneware inspired by nature and the Arts & Crafts movement. She values every stage of ceramics, from raw clay to finished vessel, and embraces the time and care the craft demands.

In recent years, Joanne has specialised in the ancient Japanese Raku firing process. By pulling pieces from the kiln at peak temperature and exposing them to smoke, flame or water, she creates unique, unpredictable finishes—cracks and all—that mirror life’s own beauty and resilience.
